Cookie Dough Protein Balls

Cookie Dough Protein Balls

These cookie dough protein balls will satisfy your sweet craving, give you a little energy boost and keep you hunger pangs away in-between meals!

A little bit sweet, a little bit crunch, a little bit naughty…

Made by accident, I created these little gems in a week where my pantry was running low on almost everything!  I needed a quick energy boost so chocolate blissballs were on the brain.

But when I took stock of my pantry, I had no cacao, no dates, no coconut oil and no cashews! So inspired by my Amazonia RAW protein powder, I put on my creative hat and made these little gems.

In my first batch, I didn’t have any coconut oil, so I made them with slightly more rice malt syrup and they were good, but a little too sticky and couldn’t be left out of the fridge for very long at all! By the time I tried again my bulk order arrived from Elle & Eve’s Kitchen and so I added coconut oil and it was sooo good!

A little note on protein powders…

The protein used in this recipe is AMAZONIA RAW PROTEIN ISOLATE (VANILLA). This is what gives a real ‘cookie dough’ flavour, so don’t skip it! Avoid using junk-filled protein powders from the supermarket or from the gym. Many of these brands with muscly men or super lean women all over the front have stimulants like caffeine, sugar, wheat and other fillers that you just don’t need. So if you’re going to use protein powder, get the real deal. Available online from www.amazonia.com.au, or from most health food stores. In Alice Springs you can get this from Afghan Traders on Smith Street.
