Notella Blissballs

Bliss balls are a 'thing' for good reason! They are a higher fat & protein snack that can silence sweet cravings without the sugar crash. These one of the twins' favourite foods; and something I make almost every week to have on hand when we go out of the house.

All the nutella taste without the refined sugar, palm oil and preservatives, these are a whole food kitchen staple!

Prep Time10 minsCategory, , , ,

Ingredients:

 1 cup raw cashew nuts
 ½ cup raw almonds
 ½ cup hazelnuts
½ cup desiccated or shredded coconut
 2 tbsp cacao powder
 ½ tsp pure vanilla extract
 6 fresh medjool dates, pitted
 4 tbsp coconut oil
 1 tbsp chia seeds

Instructions:

1

Spread hazelnuts over an oven tray and bake for 10-15 minutes at 180C. (This step is optional, but really brings out the nutella flavour!)

2

Zoosh cooled hazelnuts, cashews and almonds into a rough flour. It doesn't need to be perfectly even, but make sure you break up the bigger chunks.

3

Transfer nuts into a large mixing bowl, then zoosh the pitted dates, coconut oil (melted) and vanilla before adding to the nuts. Combine with a spoon (or your hands!) then roll into bite size balls.

4

Before storing, the balls can be rolled into desiccated coconut, chia seeds, goji berries, matcha tea powder, maca powder or whatever you like. Store in an airtight container in the fridge or freezer.
